The Regional Centre for Capacity Development

As part of delivering on the mandate as per the 1985 Act, and pursuing her vision, Kenyatta University sought to position herself favorably within the ever-changing higher education sector through the establishment of the Centre for Capacity Development in Higher Education in June 2007. However, so as to ensure the Centre is able to attract the market outside the institutions of higher learning and enhance its competiveness it was rebranded in November 2009 as Regional Centre for Capacity Development (ReCCaDe). Its main responsibility is to enhance capacities, competencies, and competitiveness of University Staff and other institutions in Kenya and in the region of Eastern, Southern and Central Africa.

Within the context of Kenyatta University, the Regional Centre for Capacity Development (ReCCaDe) will play a significant role in the realization of the University’s Strategic and Vision Plan considering the fact that the University directly contributes to the realization of Kenya Vision 2030.
