COEP was initiated in August 2007 to accomplish the University vision and mission of Service to Humanity. COEP undertakes the Service to Humanity vision and mission through reaching out to communities by extending knowledge, skills and other resources that help the communities to identify, mobilize and utilize their locally available resources to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and the society at large.
This was followed with the nomination of departmental representatives whose role is to liaise with COEP to identify community based project proposals for implementation. All the representatives were trained on the writing of fundable community based project proposals. COEP is in the process of establishing a MODEL HOME at Kenyatta University for Technology adaptation and dissemination for households and farming technologies. Several community –based projects from departments and students clubs have been received in this office and forwarded for funding. Services
