Your tablet is a smart phone and as such has many applications. Your application of interest is mElimu a software used for reading. The first step is to put on your tablet and go to the phone settings where you activate your WiFi or your data bundles. Once activated you move back to the mElimu application and go to courses. As you scroll down to your left you click on request enrollment, confirm that the units captured are the current registered units and proceed to enroll. This ensures that the software picks and saves your data. Once done you move back to the courses and on the top you click on the red circle to initiate synchronization. Once complete you will have all your notes. You can put off your data bundles and proceed with your studies.
The corruption of your documents has set you back but you shouldn’t worry as you can recover the original document. Move to the application file manager and click to open. Pick USB storage and open it then scroll down to mElimu and long press the button. Delete the application then turn the tablet off. Restart the tablet and ensure that the WiFi or your data bundles are on. Open the mElimu application and go to courses on the top you click on the red circle to initiate synchronization. Once complete you will have all your documents in their original format. You can put off your data bundles and proceed with your studies.
I understand that this has been frustrating for you while working on a deadline, but this will help. Please install WPS application on your tablet (this will assist you in uploading your assignments). Complete your assignment using the application and save it then go to your DSVOL account and login. Click on the assignment submission option. Go to where you saved the assignment on the WPS application and click on the assignment to upload.
I understand that you are worried about this applications. The forum and the chats are initiated by the lecturer and the student is expected to go to the appropriate icon and join in the group. The icons are just below the courses on your left. This is a good opportunity to Communicate with your classmates and chat with your lecturer and gain more insight into what you are studying.
Well, once you have requested for enrollment and synchronized your tablet, the content is available to you off line in your tablet on the mElimu application under courses.
I understand that you are worried about your examination results but you shouldn’t be. As soon as your results pass the examination moderation committee they will be uploaded in your student portal. Once you login you will be able to view them.
Log in to your student portal and select academics then click on online registration of units and register the units. Ensure that you have saved the registration details before logging off to ensure that the system retains the registration
I understand that you are worried about your examination performance but you shouldn’t be. As soon as your results pass the examination moderation committee they will be uploaded in your student portal. However, to get an official transcript, you are expected to apply online and collect them from the transcript and certificate office.
In case of any damage to your tablet, you are requested to present the tablet to your regional/ center coordinator or personally deliver it to Westland’s mElimu offices on Westland’s road, plot 61 behind just behind Kempinsky, villa rosa, next to Harleys limited.
NB: For 2017-2018 Tablets, they are delivered to our University Service Center at New Education building(College of Education Building) 3rd floor room 310 at the Main Campus.
