Capacity building
Six staff members from Kenyatta university have undergone training in the field of Clinical Child Neuropsychology, between 1994 and 2008, through the Niilo Maki institute Finland) and the Department of Neuropsychology, Kutztown university(USA).
Funding
The Center has continued to receive equipment and funds for day-to day running, through the existing link between Kenyatta university and the Niilo Maki Institute.
As a result of study trip to Finland in August 2008, the center now has euro 13,000 for various activities, and guaranteed participation in the EDULINK Initiative worth euro 50,000.
Norming of the BADD TEST
The Center’s staff has been allowed to participate in the norming of the BADD (Brown’s Attention Deficit Disorder Test).
Norming of the LITERATE GAME
The Literate game is the latest invention by Prof Heikki Lyytinen (Jyvaskyla University), which is aimed at helping children with reading problems. The Center’s staff has been selected to collect Kiswahili norms for this game.
NEW DIPLOMA COURSE IN NEUROPSYCHOLOGY
The Department of educational psychology has developed a new diploma course in Clinical Child Neuropsychology. We have a capacity for more than 40 students. - Linkages
- The Center has been instrumental to the formalization of the link between Kenyatta University and Gertude’s Children’s hospital in Nairobi.

The Center has attended to more than 85 children over the last one year. 35 Children received Neuropsychological services, while 45 got counseling help.
