The Institute of Peace and Security Studies was established in October 2010 to coordinate and implement studies in the areas of peace, security management and policing to our clients who are mainly from the Kenya Defence Force, National Police Service and most recently the Kenya Prisons Service and other security agencies. The Institute is seeking collaborations with other international institutions/bodies such as the Slovakian Embassy, Stellenbosch University (South Africa). The Institute is charged with the responsibility of equipping its clients with the knowledge, skills and competencies in the provision of peace and security and falls in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

To build capacity to foster peace and maintain security by providing highly qualified and skilled personnel for all kinds of peace and security agencies both in the public and private sectors.
