The organization of students at Kenyatta University was created to serve the student community in its pursuit of academic excellence, social welfare, peace, competitiveness in the job market, and integrity; Kenyatta University Students Association is today proud to give you a first in public institutions, a website that represents the students needs and gives out relevant information that will help you in knowing better your campus, who to approach for help, and what reso urces are around campus that you didnt know about. Today we celebrate the beginning of not just embracing technology as a tool for advancement in student leadership but also an opportunity to showcase the diverse human resource that our students are when they leave this campus. This website is a window to the outside world that has been waiting to know who we are and how we can impact this world. Its a wakeup call to the students fraternity to take advantage of the enormous capability of the internet that can reach internally over 30,000 students in KU and millions around the world. As students of Kenyatta university, we are ready to conduct our affairs in conjunction with the appropriate university authorities, for our mutual help, and in order to give each other mutual help, and to contribute to the welfare of all members of our university to the best of our ability.
Kusa Elections and the new Kusa Officials
It another time that KUSA election was done with no violence at all. The campaigns were conducted with full maturity as candidates were in most cases talking of issues but not mudslinging the administration or the Vice Chancellor. The elections were carried out on 22nd March 2011 and the following individuals given the mandate to serve the students in various executive positions
1. Antony N. L. Akoto - President 2. Osongo Joseph - Secretary General 3. Said Munawwar Fofeek - Vice President 4. Erick Keter - Deputy Secretary General 5. Erick Mutwiri - Finance Secretary 6. Shipeta mathias Ezron - Academic Secretary 7. William Kitheka Maingi - Organizing Secretary 8. Winnie Mandela - Gender and Social Welfare Secretary 9. Ogaa Collins - Special Needs Secretary 10.Felix Oketch - Chairman Parklands Campus 11.Spencer Hillary - Chairman Ruiru Campus 12.John Kavele - Chairman Kitui Campus 13. James H. Mburu - Chairman Mombasa Campus. 14. Joseph Karoki N. - Speaker 15. Naomi Trinnah Taka - Deputy Speaker
The congress was also elected with a total number of 65 including the executive. Congress members representing various constituencies which are areas of residence and schools. The young campuses are yet to be represented as some of them are very young.
