Ndeti breathes a sigh of relief after Court of Appeal upholds High Court decision

The incubent Machakos Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua, will now face his fearsest rival, Wavinya Ndeti in August 8/8 elections.

The Court of Appeal has quashed an appeal challenging a High Court decision that allowed Machakos Wiper governorship candidate Wavinya Ndeti to run.

This means Ms Ndeti has survived an onslaught to push her out of the race.

Ms Ndeti has survived a series of attempts to have her out of the race beginning with case to have Machakos nominations for Wiper Party repeated after it was alleged by Machakos Governor that the results were fabricated.

The Court of Appeal in Nairobi quashed an appeal challenging High Court decision that allowed her to run.

Judges Erastus Githinji, Hannah Okwengu and Jamilla Mohamed on Friday agreed with the High Court in quashing the electoral commission’s decision to block her from running.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission had locked Ms Ndeti out of the race after finding that she was a member of two parties at the same time— Wiper Democratic Movement and Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU).
