Research Ethics

Kenyatta University in collaboration with other stakeholders has planned to hold her 1St NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CANCER PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT from 15th August to 17th, August, 2018. The theme of the conference is “The Fight against Cancer, Where are We?”

In the run-up to the conference, the conference organizing committee has lined up a number of pre-conference activities among them cancer awareness walk, cancer screening, nutrition counselling, Anthropometrics measurements, fitness tests and a postgraduate capacity building workshop.

The postgraduate training workshop will be on RESEARCH ETHICS whose facilitation will be by the Chairperson Ethics Review Committee in KU and tow researchers from Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). We are inviting postgraduate students interested to apply online.

The half-day Postgraduate Research Ethics Training Workshop will take place at KU-BSSC Room 14 on Tuesday 14th August 2018 from 8.00 am – 1:00 pm.

You are also invited to register for the 1St NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CANCER PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT. The National Conference will bring together cancer management stakeholders, practitioners and researchers in Kenya to share their experiences, challenges and lessons learnt. The conference will also act as a curtain raiser to the operationalization of Kenyatta University Hospital that has state-of-the art equipment for teaching, research and for managing cancer among others. Targat Audience: Postgraduate research students from all over the country who register to participate.

Facilitators: The training will be offered by highly experienced KEMRI and KU researchers.

Objective: To impart knowledge on common ethical issues that surface in research and ethical treatment of research subjects.

No fees will be paid by the participants, but applicants will cater for their own accommodation, transport, tea and meals.
