Kenyatta University has re-branded the institute of Open Learning to include e-Learning. It now becomes the Institute Of Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL). “This re-branding of the Institute is geared towards improving the delivery of our educational services to our students, which in essence improves the quality of our distance learning programmes,” says Prof Olive Mugenda, the Vice-Chancellor. By introducing e-Learning we are adding value to our programmes by placing the student at the Centre of Learning. Under the new Institute, the University has taken a more practical approach to pedagogy, thus addressing students learning needs. ‘The new Institute will be run with professionalism and efficiency’, adds Prof Mugenda.
