I am Dr. Richard M. Wafula, the Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kenyatta University. As the Dean of the School, I strive to lead the School administratively to realize operational excellence in all its activities through the following responsibilities: 

  1. Overseeing the performance of the staff in School;
  2. Coordinating the departmental activities as per the University policy;
  3. In charge of Examinations processing in the School;
  4. Monitoring the performance of the various Committees in the School;
  5. Liaising with the University Management on matters pertaining to the development of the School and Kenyatta University in general;
  6. Ensuring that all the programmes offered by the School are taught;
  7. Offering guidance in curriculum review and development;
  8. Advising staff and students on University policies and procedures;
  9. Giving advice on staff recruitment and promotion;
  10. Handling official correspondence from the departments and Administration as well as from external sources and links;
  11. Ensuring good custody of the Resources at School level;
  12. Handling admission applications for undergraduates;
  13. Processing admission application for postgraduate students;
  14. Attending meetings and carrying out any other tasks assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
