Kenyatta University School of Law [KUSOL] is housed in the Parklands Campus of Kenyatta University. It is located in the idyllic Parklands suburb of the City  of Nairobi on Chemelil Road off Kolobot Road. It is also near Stima Plaza and adjacent to Sirona Hotel, and can be approached from Kipande, Limuru, or Forest Roads. The Location of the School not only provides a serene and secure environment conducive for learning and living, but it is also easily accessible both by public and private means given its close proximity to Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The idea of setting up a law school in Kenyatta University was conceived as early as the year 2006 by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences which did all the necessary ground work leading to the establishment of the School of Law. In setting up the School, consideration was given to the ever increasing marketability of legal qualifications in Kenya and neighbouring countries. Thanks to all the hard work that was put in at the beginning by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Law is now firmly established.

The Kenyatta University School of Law opened its doors for the first time to students on 12 May 2008. It was officially launched a year later on Friday, 27 November 2009 at a colourful ceremony held on the compound with our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olive Mugenda as the Chief Host and the then Honourable Attorney General, Amos Wako, as the Chief Guest.

Since its first admission of students, KUSOL has grown from strength to strength as guided by the University’s framework for success in the provision of quality higher education
