The school has also revised several programmes and is still developing more. Notable is the Bachelor of Philosophy programme which is meant to cater for Higher National Diploma (HND) holders who want to pursue Masters. All the existing programmes are subject to review on a continuous basis in line with new developments in science and the vision of the country. In effect, plans are under way to start a Department of Microbiology. Regarding infrastructural development, science laboratories have been put up with the allocation of six (6) of them with a capacity of six hundred (600) students to our departments. This has eased the congestion in the laboratories in the school. The school strives to meet its objectives by facilitating members of staff to attend conferences in which scientific research findings are disseminated. Postgraduate students who qualify for research grants and scholarships are also facilitated. In this regard, in August next year, the school is organizing the First Regional Scientific Conference to enable scientists from the region to share their research findings.
Location The School of Pure and Applied Sciences (SPAS) is located next to the University’s Graduation Square, straight on past the Cyber Café.
