On Friday, 31st March 2023; Hon. Ruweida Mohamed, MP - Lamu East visited KU Mombasa Campus bearing a CDF bursary cheque for ten (10) students studying at the campus. The beneficiaries of the bursary hailing from her constituency were awarded sh.25,000 each to cater for their university education.
The legislator presented the cheque to the campus director in the presence of the campus examination coordinator, and Lamu students who were at the campus premises at the time of the visit.
During her brief visit, the MP told her constituents that one of her priority commitments is to support access to quality education especially for needy and vulnerable students. 
She further encouraged the students to focus on getting value from their studies, and sensitize others from Lamu East on the availability of bursary in their constituency to support their education.
