Services Offered
To Students:

• Providing students with visual impairment with information in alternative format (Braille, large print, soft copy etc).
• Identifying, in collaboration with the Directorate of Accommodation Services, suitable accommodation facilities for students with special needs.
• Linking students with Disabilities to bodies that may offer financial assistance.
• Acquisition of assistive devices through linkages with national and international organizations that may provide such devices.
• Collaborating with the University administration and teaching departments to ensure that students with Disabilities receive appropriate instructional and support services to facilitate their learning, particularly for those with hearing impairment.
• Liaising with the administration, Estates and other relevant sections of the University to remove environmental barriers on campuses.
• Providing information on funding for higher education by various bodies that may support PWD.

To Staff:

• Providing information on Registration procedures with the National Council for Persons With Disabilities (NCPWD)
• Linking staff who require assistive devices with funding agencies.
• Facilitate the process of tax exemption with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in line with the Persons With Disabilities Act (2013).
