TERMS OF SERVICE:

DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
1. CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER – GRADE 15.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Legal officer will be in charge of the University Legal department;
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
- Management of activities carried out by the University legal function
Provide legal counsel to University Management Board and Council.
- Coordinate preparation of all University Legal documents.
- Interpret and implement University Statutes, Terms and Conditions of Service, Collective Agreements and other documents that have legal binding on the University
- Offer legal advice to University on management and disposal of property.
- Ensure University legal and regulatory frameworks are legally compliant through constant review.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in law, Business Administration or any other related areas will be an added advantage
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree or its equivalent from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning.
- Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
- Fully qualified public secretary (CPS-K)
- Membership to relevant professional body – LSK.
- At least seven (7) years working experience in a large corporation and currently holding a similar or equivalent position.

- Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling duties
- Sound analytical skills
- Ability to identify with precision the critical factors of a problem in an impartial and objective way.

2. PHARMACIST - GRADE 12
Reporting to the Director, University Health Services the Job holder will be in charge of the University Pharmacy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify pharmacy related issues/ challenges and propose solutions to Director , University Health Services.
- Plan and offer pharmacy services to members of Kenyatta Community in accordance to agreed work plans.
- Supervise supply and usage of medicine and ensure the pharmacy is fit for dispensation of Medicine Purposes.
- Assess quality of Medicine before they are supplied to patients.
- Monitor pharmacy operational requirements and manage technician schedules
- Supervise verification processes of patients orders and charges
- Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipates legislation, and advises management on needed action.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Pharmacy or relevant and related field from a registered and recognized institution.
- Current registration certificate to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Three (3) years relevant work experience in a Public Institution pharmacy or busy pharmacy.
- Valid practicing License

3. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST – GRADE E/F
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmaceutical Science or related field OR Higher National Diploma in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology Applied Sciences or health related field from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning.
- At least three (3) years hands on relevant work experience in a reputable hospital or relevant work environment
- Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Valid Practicing License
- Computer Literate
4. MEDICAL OFFICER – GRADE12
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree programme (MBChB) or related field from a registered and recognized institution of Higher Learning.
- At least three (3) years hands on medical consultation experience from a recognized hospital
- Valid registration with the Kenya Medical and Dentist Practitioners Board.
- Valid Practicing License
- Computer Literate
- High level of integrity and able to work under pressure.`
5. MACHINE OPERATOR (Examination Section) - GRADE III/IV
QUALIFICATIONS:
- KCE Division IV or KCSE mean grade D+ (Plus) or equivalent
- Certificate in Machine Maintenance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- At least Three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy organization.
- Must be a person of integrity.
6. SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY TOURISM AND LEISURE STUDIES
DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND SPORTS MANAGEMENT
- I.PROFESSOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree from an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years of university teaching experience as Associate Professor
- Successfully supervised at least Five (5) Postgraduate students to completion and at least two (2) at Doctoral Level since being appointed Associate Professor.
- A minimum of cumulative sixty (60) publication points** of which at least forty (40) should be from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Associate Professor.
- Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Associate Professor.
- Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
- Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars and workshops.

II. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree in an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years of university teaching experience as Senior Lecturer.
- A minimum of cumulative Forty Eight (48) publication points*, of which Thirty Two (32) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Senior Lecturer.
- Successful supervision of at least four (4) post graduate students including at least one (1) doctoral student as senior Lecturer.
- Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer.
- Evidence of good quality teaching.
- Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
III. SENIOR LECTURER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level as Lecturer or six (6) years research / industry experience.
- A minimum of cumulative Thirty Two (32) publication points* of which Twenty Four (24) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Lecturer
- Successful supervision of at least three (3) post graduate students as lecturer.
- Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer.
- Evidence of good quality teaching.
- Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
- Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies.
IV. LECTURER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management from an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years University teaching or research / industry experience.
V. TUTORIAL FELLOW
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters in Recreation and Sports Management or Leisure and Recreation Management from an accredited and recognized University.
- Applicants must be prepared to pursue Ph.D. in the specified areas of specialization
- PhD Registration will be an added advantage
7. DEPARTMENT OF FASHION DESIGN AND MARKETING
- I.PROFESSOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree from an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years of university teaching experience as Associate Professor

- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design and Marketing or Textiles, Clothing and Design
- Teaching experience at University level will be an added advantage.
- Applicants must be prepared to pursue Ph.D. in the specified areas of specialization.
- Registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
8. DEPARTMENT OF PLANT SCIENCES
I. SENIOR LECTURER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned PhD. Degree in Plant Sciences, Natural Sciences or related field with specialization in Genetics from an accredited and recognized University.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level as Lecturer or six (6) years research / industry experience.
- A minimum of cumulative Thirty Two (32) publication points* of which Twenty Four (24) are from articles in refereed scholarly journals after being appointed Lecturer
- Successful supervision of at least three (3) post graduate students as lecturer.
- Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group after being appointed as Lecturer.
- Evidence of good quality teaching.
