Tharaka Nithi Creche RCT Measurement Coordinator
Kenyatta University and the Economic Growth Center at Yale University are seeking the expertise of a Measurement Coordinator for a project based in Tharaka Nithi County. The measurement coordinator will be responsible for leading the coordination of assessments for an early childhood development curriculum targeted at 3- and 4-year olds. The Coordinator will work in collaboration with child psychologists, local stakeholders from Tharaka Nithi County and researchers from Kenyatta University, Yale University, Bangor University and University of the West Indies.
Key responsibilities:
● Lead the piloting of pre-primary child assessment tools (including WPPSI-IV) with a group of at least 60 children between 3– years old
● Iteratively adapt and re-test existing child assessment tools to the target age group (3–4 year olds), local language and local context
● Provide ongoing supervision and guidance to Research Assistants, helping to problem-solve issues as they arise and ensure the successful adaptation of tests to suit the local context and defined curriculum outcomes
● Work closely with the assessment leads to refine the testing tools and support as necessary
● Coordinate translation of assessment tools into appropriate local language(s) at a level suitable for children
● Lead and coordinate the acquisition, adaptation and reproduction of all necessary tools and resources associated with child testing (e.g. books, record forms, etc.)
● Assist in the development of the assessment training guides and record forms
● Assist with recruitment and training of the child tester team (under the direction of the assessment leads)
● Work alongside the curriculum intervention supervisor and government project manager at the county level to ensure the efficient running of the assessments
● Enter data into a statistical program (e.g. SPSS or Stata) to examine the range of scores and for reliability testing

Contract period and time requirements:
3 months full-time, with possibility to extend

TERMS OF SERVICE:
A competitive remuneration package which includes basic salary, generous house allowance, medical cover as per University Scheme will be provided.
For teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow, employment will be on permanent and pensionable
terms.
Tutorial Fellows are employed on one (1) year renewable contract, to a maximum of three (3) years.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;
While reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor main duties will include;
- Implementation of the Annual Audit Work Plan in the University
- Assist in the Development of the Annual Work Plans for the University
- Develop and Execute Audit Programs.
- Carry out special audit investigations as may be required from time to time
- Preparation of timely audit reports to management for informed decision making

Key Qualifications & Experience:

- At least five (5) years working experience as an Internal auditor or Accountant II .
- Computer Literate
- INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDITOR - GRADE 11
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
While reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting of IT Audits in the University
- Assist audit team in the extraction and analysis of data using data analytics tools and CAATs .
- In collaboration with other auditors , conduct operational compliance , financial and investigative IT audits as assigned by relevant authority
- Assist in the Development of the Annual Work Plans for the University
- Assist in training of other audit staff on use of computer assisted audit techniques
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor degree in a Computer Science or related field from a recognized university
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) OR Certified Internal Auditor(CIA)
- At least three (3) years relevant work experience as an Information Systems Auditor or its equivalent.
- CPA (K) or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage
- Computer Literate
- CARETAKER - GRADE III/IV
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- KCSE Grade D (Plain ) or equivalent
- Clean discharge certificate from Discipline Forces or Security firm
- At least three (3) years relevant work experience
