Looking for a Credit Control Officer
Kenyatta University is in the process of opening a new state of the art Hospital - Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital (KUTRRH). The Hospital aspires to meet the health needs of all Kenyans, regional and global citizens with quality, compassionate patient and family centered health care. The Hospital will also offer training of highly skilled medical manpower while carrying out medical research and serve as a referral centre. In line with Kenyatta University’s Strategic Plan and Kenya Government Vision 2030 Development Plan, the University plans to operationalize the new Hospital in February 2016 starting with the Outpatient Division in the first phase. The University is seeking to employ highly qualified self-driven persons to actualize its agenda of offering quality patient and family centered health care and training of medical personnel while conducting medical research in a premier state of the art Referral Hospital. The University now wishes to fill the position of Credit Control Officer.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Finance Officer KUTRRH, the Credit Control Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all the hospital debts are appropriately ascertained and duly collected in line with the hospital finance policy and as directed by the Finance Officer. Key Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies and a CPA (II) from recognised institutions. S/he will also have a minimum of four years’ working experience as a Credit Controller in a busy hospital and must be computer literate. Shortlisted candidates will also be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Deputy Director Clinical Services
Reporting to the Director KUTRRH, the Deputy Director Clinical Services will provide oversight on medical governance, ensure quality of patient care, research, teaching, appropriate delivery of medical services and advise the executive on medical matters to achieve safe patient care at KUTRRH. To be appointed for the role, the successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degree as well as a Master’s Degree in a Medical related field from a recognized University. A Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration or related field from a recognized University will be an added advantage. S/he will also have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a medical specialist, five of which should be in a senior position in a reputable health facility. Deputy Director Nursing Services Reporting to the Director KUTRRH, the Deputy Director Nursing Services will be responsible for providing nursing leadership, research and teaching. S/he will also be responsible for implementing evidence-based best nursing and professional service standards for all nurses and paramedical staff as well as providing oversight of clinical quality in collaboration with the Deputy Director Clinical Services. To be appointed for the role, the successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field from a recognized University. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field from a recognized University will be an added advantage. S/he will also have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a nursing specialist, five of which should be in a senior nursing position in a reputable health facility. Deputy Director Administration and Finance Reporting to the Director KUTRRH, the Deputy Director Administration and Finance will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of KUTRRH. S/he will integrate the strategic plan of the Hospital with the operations; provide management oversight for the development of high quality, cost effective and integrated administrative and financial program within the Hospital. S/he will also be responsible for ensuring that effective and efficient administrative and financial services are designed to meet the needs of patients, staff and the public. To be appointed for the role, the successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Health Administration or Business Administration or related field from a recognized University. S/he will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, five of which should be in a senior administrative leadership position in a healthcare institution or health system management. Head of Accident and Emergency Services (A&E) Reporting to the Deputy Director Clinical Services, the Head of A&E Services will provide leadership and management of clinical services in the Outpatient Division of the Hospital. S/he will also ensure provision of quality and timely clinical services, quality of patient care, research and teaching, and advisory services to the Deputy Director Clinical Services on outpatient services at KUTRRH.

To be appointed for the role, the successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery and a Master’s Degree in a clinical related field from a recognized University. A Postgraduate qualification in emergency medicine is an added advantage. S/he will have a minimum of eight years’ experience as a medical practitioner, three of which should be in a senior position in a reputable health facility. Common requirements for the positions above The ideal candidates must be registered with a relevant professional body, demonstrate ability to motivate and engage physicians, nurses and other professional staff; and create connections, trust and shared values. They will be experienced in bringing together elements of a healthcare organization to have a common focus on vision and goals and articulate a philosophy of safe patient care and quality improvement. In addition, they will have the ability to build and maintain highly productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders and create a strong inclusive team climate within the Hospital and University. Furthermore, they will possess strong negotiation and conflict resolution, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Additionally, they will demonstrate strength of character, integrity and ethics and have the ability to gain trust and build confidence.
