Entry Requirements

i. The common regulations for admissions for a mastersin the University shall apply.

ii. The general regulations for all master degree in the School of Agriculture and Enterprise Development shall apply.

iii. Holders of a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Animal Production and Health Management, Animal Health and Production, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Agricultural Resource Management, Dryland Agriculture, Range Management or its equivalent from Kenyatta University or other institutions recognized by Kenyatta University Senate. Holders of B.Sc. degree with Lower Second Class honours in the agricultural related areas must have least two years relevant experience

Programme Structure and Duration

a) The M.Sc. degree in Animal Nutrition and Management shall consist of coursework, examination and thesis.

b) In year one, a candidate shall be required to take a total of 10 units, five in each Semester.

c) In year two, a candidate shall conduct on research work and submit a thesis.

d) The degree to be awarded is designated: Master of Science in Animal Nutritionand Management.

Examination  

a) The Kenyatta University examination regulations governing post-graduate exams shall apply.

b) Unit registered for in each semester shall be examined at the end of that semester.

c) Coursework assessment shall consist of final written examination and Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) which shall include practicals, written tests, seminars, oral presentation and term papers. 

d) The final written examination shall constitute 60% of the total marks for each unit while CATs shall constitute 40% of the total marks.

e) The pass mark for each unit shall be 50%.

f) The thesis will be examined according to the university regulations that is written thesis and oral presentation (defense).
