  • Development of new and improved Rice varieties (OryzaSativa) through plant breeding to enhance food security

  • Applied biotechnology/molecular approach to crop improvement for instance use of Marker assisted selection techniques

  • Mitigating climate change using bio-fuel crops (Application of tissue culture in plant propagation, especially in crops such as Jatropha curcas

  • Improvement of seed value chain to ensure use of High Quality Seeds, especially the certification process and farmer adoption.
