ACADEMIC TRIP TO NAKURU CAMPUS BY THE DEAN, SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS.

On Friday 28th August 2017the Dean School of Economics (Prof.Nelson H.W.Wawire), School Examinations Coordinator (Dr.Duncan Ouma,), School Administrator (Ms.Jackylne Nafula) and (Mr.Bradley Kolwa (School Congressman) paid a visit to Economics students in Nakuru Campus. The Director welcomed the team and emphasized that the visit was long overdue since Nakuru students had issues relating to their Academic and social well-being.
Addressing the students, the Dean briefed the students on the structure of the school which comprises of three departments; Department of Applied Economics, Department of Econometrics and Statistics, and Department of Economic Theory. He also pointed out the degree programmes offered in the three departments and Academic issues related to the degree programmmes.
He further emphasized that the PhD in Economics is offered across all the Departments by Coursework, Examination and Thesis. The programme is offered on part time basis in City campus. The School Examinations Coordinator discussed the following topics; examinations process, course requirements, examination irregularities, classification, unit registration and causes of discontinuation. The students were urged to work hard and be disciplined. Over sixty (70) undergraduate and master’s students and Academic members attended.
