Entry Requirements
i.    A holder of Bachelor of Education Degree in Early Childhood Studies, with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized institution.
ii.    Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they
have Grade “C” and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.
iii.    The masters’ programme is available through project work and thesis option.

Duration of the course
During the first year of study candidates will be required to take 11 units of which 6 will be general core units and 3 electives. During the second year the student will be required to complete a thesis or a project worth 6 units.The masters’ programmes are offered through residential / regular programmes, open learning and school based.The masters’ degree programme in early childhood studies will be offered in three specialization areas, thus:
i.    Community and family education
ii.    Management of institutes
iii.    Developmental studies (child development)

Certification
The programme will lead to the award of a Master of Education Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Examination

The final written examination will constitute 70% of the total mark while the continuous assessment and assignments will constitute 30%.The pass mark of each course shall be 50%.
