Entry Requirements
The common regulations governing Masters Degrees in the University shall apply

The common regulations for the Masters degrees in the School of Engineering and Technology shall be apply. The following shall be eligible for admission for Masters' degree in the department. 

First or Upper Second Class Honours degree in Appropriate Technology, Engineering (including: Agricultural, Civil and Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum, Biomedical, Aeronautical), Physics, Technology Education and any other relevant disciplines from any recognized University

Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade "C" and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Duration and Pattern of the Course
Master of Science degrees in the Department of Energy Engineering shall be by coursework, ex- amination and thesis only.The MSc (Renewable Energy) program in the department shall extend over a minimum of eighteen months and a maximum of 36 months.In the first year of study, students will take twelve (12) core units.In the second year, students will concentrate on their research work and thesis.Upon successful completion of the course and thesis, the candidate shall be awarded an M.Sc (Renewable Energy) degree.

Examination
The final written examinations will constitute 70% of the total mark while the continuous assessment and assignments will constitute 30%.The pass mark of each course shall be 50%.
