Tree planting exercise
The school of environmental studies in conjunction with Kenyatta University Rotaract Club organized two tree planting exercises in the university near the Ngong Hostel grounds. The first event was on 23rd November, 2020, 175 tree seedlings were planted, while the second one took place on 11th April,2021 which saw 200 tree seedling planted. This club brings together young people aged 18 years and above across the globe to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership skills and have fun through service to the community. The club encourages young and innovative people to take action and join the club to make the environment a better place to live in.
On Friday 9 April, 2021, they organized a community outreach activity, which was clean up of Mirema Primary School. On Sunday 11th April, 2021, the club members organized yet another exciting tree planting exercise in the same area where 200 tree seedling where planted. This shows a great commitment determination and self-sacrifice despite the lock down and the risk of Covid 19, the club members mobilized themselves for this event.
