Entry Requirements
The common regulations for admission into master's degrees in the University shall apply. The common regulations for admission into the Masters degrees in the School of Environmental Studies shall apply.The following shall be eligible for admission into the Master of Environmental Studies, (Climate Change and Sustainability) programme;
- A holder of first class or second class (upper division) degree or their equivalent in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Education, Biophysicalsciences, Social sciences, Agriculture, Forestry, Natural resources, Education from a recognized university.
- Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade "C" and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.
Duration and Degree Pattern
The Master of Master of Environmental Studies, (Climate Change and Sustainability). Degree programme is by coursework, examination and thesis OR Project. The program will take a minimum of 18 months. To graduate in the Master of Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainability) a candidate is expected to pass at least ten units, eight of which must be core, in addition to a thesis. Those taking projects will take a minimum of 14 Units. In the first year of study, the student is expected to take 5 units in each semester. In the second year of study, the student is expected to carry out a field or laboratory research and submit a thesis for examination.
Examination
The general University examinations regulations shall apply. Students enrolled in the Master of Environmental Studies (Climate Change Studies) degree programme are expected to take writ- ten examinations on all taught units. The written examinations shall constitute 70% of the total marks and coursework assessments tests (CAT's) shall constitute 30%. Pass mark shall be 50%. All students enrolled in the Master of Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainabil- ity) shall submit either a thesis or project report for examination.
Grading System
Grading after examinations for all units shall be as follows: 70-100 (A), 60-69 (B), 50-59(C), 0-49 (E) (Fail). Pass mark is 50%. A candidate who gets less than 50% shall sit for a supplementary examination that shall be marked to maximum of 50%.
