Through the department of public policy and administration, The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been training 20 people on financial inclusion.
KOICA funding is supporting the Financial Innovation and Financial Inclusion Policy Research Programme in the Department of Public Policy and Administration.
The training will build capacity of the faculty in carrying out cutting edge research in financial inclusion in the field of agriculture
17 participants are from Kenyatta university, two from the ministry of Agriculture, and one from KALRO
The program will last till 2024 and includes an onsite session in South Korea.
Each session takes 10 days. The 2022 year's session was online due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The department held a public lecture on 20th February . The lecture was ' on election dilemna in Africa" . The occasion was sponsored by the African Association of public administration and management.  Earlier the Department signed a MOU with AAPAP in the VC's office . Present was the AAPAM secretary General Dr George Scott.
The lecture was delivered by Mr Felix Odhiambo .  In attendance were Prof John Okumu the DVC academic  and who represented the VC, Dean SHSS Dr Wafula, Prof David Minja, Chair of the department, Members of Staff and students
