Meeting Description: This one-day conference for post-graduate students in Linguistics is free and virtual. A certificate of participation will be issued.

Call for Papers:

The Department of Literature, Linguistics and   Foreign Languages at Kenyatta University is delighted to organize the 1st edition of its Post-graduate Linguistics Students Conference, to which all MA and doctoral students in Linguistics and Foreign Languages are invited to participate so that they may give a talk and participate in discussions with fellow students. Accepted speakers for talks will have the opportunity to present for 15 minutes, followed by an additional five-minute question period. This conference mirrors our MA/PhD programmes, thus we look forward to receiving abstracts addressing one or more of the following strands:

  • Theoretical and Applied Linguistics
  • Sociolinguistics
  • Language Acquisition
  • Translation and Interpretation
  • Language planning, policy, and education

Abstract Guidelines:

Abstracts should contain original research that, at the time of submission, has neither been published nor accepted for publication. It may be presented in other conferences. Please bear in mind that a good abstract may but need not contain a fully worked out solution; your presentation can be a work in progress.  Abstracts must be submitted electronically in PDF format. Abstracts must not exceed 250 words including examples and references, with 2.5 cm (or 1 inch) margins on all sides and 11-point font size.
