About

The All Kenyan Moot Court Competition (AKMCC) is an annual National moot court competition hosted by the Kenyatta University School of Law (KUSOL) and involving all Law Schools in Kenya. The competition focuses mainly on matters of International law and is set to become one of the largest annual gatherings in the Kenyan legal calendar.

DISCLAIMER

THE 11^THEDITION OF AKMCC WILL ADOPT A RELAXED APPROACH OF THE COVID-19 PROTOCOLS. HOWEVER, PARTICIPANTS AND ATTENDEES WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND ENSURE THAT THEY WASH THEIR HANDS REGULARLY OR USE HAND SANITISERS, IN ORDER TO KEEP COVID 19 AT BAY. THE PRELIMINARY ROUNDS OF THE COMPETITION SHALL BE CONDUCTED PHYSICALLY ON THE 22^NDOF MARCH 2023.ON 23^RD MARCH 2023, TEAMS PROCEEDING TO THE QUARTER-FINALS AND SEMIS WILL BE ANNOUNCED. THE QUARTER-FINALS AND SEMIS WILL BE DONE AT KENYATTA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW, PARKLANDS CAMPUS WHILE THE MOOT FINALS ARE EXPECTED TO BE CONDUCTED AT THE SUPREME COURT. THE COMMITTEE WILL MAKE ACCOMMODATION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE TEAMS FROM OUTSIDE NAIROBI.

RECAP OF THE 10TH EDITION COMPETITION

The 11^th edition of the All Kenyan Moot Court Competition, held from March 20^th to March 24^thwas an exceptional event that left a lasting impact on all participants and attendees. The theme was,” Social Economic Justice –Enhancing Government’s Transparency and Accountability in the Promotion of Human Rights,”

A key highlight of the event was the conference that brought together various stakeholders from the private, legal, governmental and civil society sectors, the conference saw an exchange of diverse perspectives and insightful discussions on the theme of the competition. The competition also showcased the legal knowledge and advocacy skills of the various participants both in the research and moot categories with the finalists of the moot category having their finals at the Supreme Court of Kenya.

In conclusion, the 11^th All Kenyan Moot Court Competition was a resounding success thanks to the organizers, participants and partners who contributed to its success.
