INTRODUCTION:
The department was established in 2016 when the new School Of Nursing Sciences was formed after the approval by the senate. The department coordinates the training of nurses in medical surgical nursing, nursing leadership and management, nursing education and pre-clinical sciences. It is headed by a chairman and has one section head for preclinical sciences

The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Pre-clinical sciences aspires to develop professional nurses who emulate a culture of evidence based nursing practice, transformative nursing leadership, research and community service.The department will be recognized for training empowered nursing professionals who lead the dynamic healthcare delivery system nationally, regionally and globally.
