Introduction  
Programme objectives Upon completion of the programme, students have:

·         Acquired the necessary information science knowledge, and skills, to work in, and manage, a school library

·         Acquired the necessary information science knowledge and competence to enable them to make professional decisions expected of personnel in libraries.

·         Acquired the necessary skills required to teach in their subject of training

Justification / Rationale In contemporary education system, schools must have a functional library (resource centre) to support the syllabus. These libraries encompass the activities of acquisition, organization, retrieval, and dissemination as enshrined in the information professional practice. This ideally calls for a trained information practitioner who may also be a trained teacher. This program is aimed at equipping a trained teacher with the basic information science domain knowledge to enable him / her to functionally run and manage a school library.

Mode and Structure of Delivery Regular Full-Time (Main Campus)
Programme Duration 4 Years
Curriculum Highlights ·         Students take units in their preferred two (2) Teacher Services Commission (TSC) recognized teaching subjects

·         Students take eleven (11) units in information science in order to graduate as a teacher-librarian

·         Students must go for teaching practice (One semester)
