THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE WEBSITE
Women economic empowerment faces policy gaps that need evidence driven understanding on the complexity and challenges women encounter in translating their labour into paid work and control over their economic and livelihood decisions. In this light, Kenyatta University with the support of the Gates Foundation and through Kenyatta University Women’s Economic Empowerment (KU-WEE) Hub has been undertaking twelve analytical studies and one Randomized Control Trial (RCT) intervention on childcare and women’s work. The studies aimed to generate rigorous evidence to address the weak nexus between WEE policies, programmes and gender data in Kenya. Through strategic studies, partnerships, and the flagship RCT intervention, the KU-WEE Hub is driving innovative solutions that elevate women’s participation, productivity, and leadership in the economy.
Venue: Chuka University, Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County
