The Department of Educational Foundations is one of the oldest within the School of Education and Lifelong Learning, often referred to as the "mother" of other departments. It offers courses providing the requisite knowledge to undertake and understand content in other education disciplines.
Established as a cornerstone of teacher education at Kenyatta University, the department brings together scholars in sociology of education, philosophy of education, history of education, health education, and comparative education. The department is part of the School of Education and Lifelong Learning.
