KU IBM SKILLS TRAINING ACADEMY DECEMBER 2018 INTAKE

   Kenyatta University IBM SKILLS Academy in its teaching role wishes to advertise Full time and Part time in Cyber Security, Mobile Application Development, Cloud Computing, Blockchain Development, Big Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Analyst. THE TRAINING ENTAILS HANDS ON EXERCISES.

The courses will be offered in Kenyatta University Main Campus. Short courses descriptions are as follows:

Cyber Security

Mobile Application Development

Business Intelligence Analyst

The Application Security Engineer will learn how to scan web applications against vulnerabilities and attacks.

This will require skills in web application security such as scanning and testing applications in order to identify and analyze security vulnerabilities.

Training topics will include OWASP security standards, Glassbox scanning, cross-site scripting, broken authentication, cross-site request forgery and thread analysis and reports.

 The Mobile Application Developer will learn to develop, test, debug and deploy hybrid mobile applications. This will require skills in application development frameworks such as Sencha Touch, jQuery, Dojo and Apache Cordova. The Mobile Application developer will use tools to create and publish mobile applications in public marketplaces such as Android SDK and Xcode, and also in private enterprise mobile application markets such as IBM MobileFirst.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will learn the essential reporting software’s (IBM COGNOS ANALYTICS report studio)to create management and distribute reports. This will require skills in reporting applications such as Data Filters, Data Graphics, SQL, HTML, and structured and unstructured data. The Business Intelligence Analyst will use tools to create reports, analyze, and monitor events to meet an entity’s information requirements.

Cloud Application Developer

Blockchain Developer

Big Data Analytics
The Cloud Application Developerwill learn emerging paradigms leading to adoption of cloud computing, create deploy and run applications using the IBM Cloud.After completing the course the learners will understand cloud management and its application across various industries The Blockchain Developer will learn foundational skills required to start developing blockchain applications. The course covers introduction to Hyperledger blockchain platform. The blockchain developer will use the Hyperledger fabric to develop and deploy blockchain applications, Manage blockchain security and integration with other application programs. IBM big Insights, provides a platform for analyzing big data. This provides an efficient and cost effective way to make decisions for business and industry including Business, aviation and transport sectors.

 

         Mode of Learning

  • The December intake starts on 3rd December 2018.
  • The students are expected to attend five hours of training each day during weekdays for a period of three weeks, which will include both theory and practical lessons.
  • Part time and weekend classes are also available.
