Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Be a holder of an earned Ph.D. degree or equivalent from a reputable University.
  • Candidates with training in Project Planning, Economics, Strategic Management and Business Management will have added advantage.

TERMS OF SERVICE:

The terms of Service for the position of Registrar (Planning & Strategy) is (4) Four years renewable contract subject to satisfactory performance. A competitive remuneration package which includes a basic salary, generous house allowance, medical cover as per University Scheme, Leave allowance and Official transport will be provided.

For the other positions, the terms are a two (2) years performance based renewable contract with the possibility of terms being changed to Permanent and Pensionable as per the individual’s performance.

  • Have at least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy Teaching, Research or a Quality Assurance Laboratory.
  • Those with experience in a herbarium will have an added advantage.

  • Maintain current Good Laboratory Practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc. Degree from a recognized University in any of the following areas of specialization: Food Science and Technology, Food Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • KSCE mean Grade C+ (plus) or equivalent and above.
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy Teaching, Research, Food processing company or related companies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate from a registered and recognized Institution in any of the following areas of specialization: Housekeeping Techniques or Food & Beverage Production & Service
  • KSCE mean Grade D-(minus) or equivalent and above.
  • Have at least three (3) years work experience in housekeeping or food and beverage production and service.
  • Experience in operating nutraceutical processing equipment will be an added advantage.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance & Development), the Director Hospitality will direct the hospitality service functions within the University and satellite campuses

 

Main duties and responsibilities;

  • Develop policies to guide the operations of the hospitality directorate in line with the income generation to the university.
  • Generate budgets for the annual operation of the hospitality services in the University.
  • Prepare periodical reports to the University Management on the performance of the hospitality Services income generating activities for decision making.
  • Chair daily departmental briefings, review performance and focus on operational foward planning.
  • Inspect all operational areas by walking through to ensure the areas are safe and free from health hazards.

Reporting to the Director , University Security Services, Deputy Director will coordinate security services , receive and review security reports  and investigate security related incidents.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Report unusual activity or ssuspicions on safety issues to the Director or management.
  • Properly complete incident reports and misconduct reports in the Univerity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

VI        SENIOR TECHNICIAN – GRADE E/F
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Msc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited and   recognized University.
  • BSc. Degree from a recognized University
  • KCSE mean Grade C+ (plus) or equivalent and above.
  • Have at least three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy teaching laboratory as a Technician.
  • Be computer literate
  • Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills

Candidates with a B.Sc. Degree in the fields above or their equivalents may also be considered on condition that they have at least eight (8) years relevant work experience

VII.     TECHNICIAN – C/D.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.Sc. or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution in any of the following areas:
  • Neurophysiology

  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • KCSE mean Grade C(plain)  or equivalent and above
  • At least three (3) years relevant working experience in  a Medical Training Facility

VIII.    TECHNICIAN – A/B.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma from a recognized institution in any of the following areas:

  • At least three (3) years relevant working experience in  a  busy hospital or Medical training facility.

  1. MSc. in Human Anatomy or  its equivalent from an accredited and   recognized University in the following areas of specialization

    • An earned PhD. Degree with specialization in Medical Biochemistry from an accredited and recognized University.
    • Master of Science degree in Biochemistry or Medical Biochemistry

    (Those in advanced stages in completion of their PhD studies can also be considered)

    • At least three (3) years relevant working experience in a busy Teaching, Research or a Pharmaceutical Laboratory.
    • Those with Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences should be registered with KMLTTB and have a valid practicing license.

TERMS OF SERVICE:

  • For Non-Teaching positions, employment will be on Two (2) year contract that may be translated to Permanent and Pensionable terms, based on performance.
  • For teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow, employment will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms.
  • Tutorial Fellows will be employed on One (1) year renewable contract, to a maximum of Three (3) years.
