Cutting-edge biotechnology research for better health outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Institute of Biotechnology Research (IBR) is Kenyatta University's flagship hub for applied life-science research. The institute conducts cutting-edge work on infectious diseases, genomics, biopharmaceuticals and biosafety, translating laboratory discoveries into diagnostics, therapeutics and policy guidance that directly impact health outcomes in Kenya and the wider region. IBR partners with WHO, KEMRI and international institutions on collaborative projects and hosts postgraduate researchers across the biosciences.
We welcome collaboration with researchers, industry, government and development partners, and host postgraduate students across our focus areas.
